ABOUT US

Les Galopins are a Running club for men and women belonging to the Gay & Lesbian community of the Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

We run (or walk) twice a week, all year-long (even in winter!).

If you are a runner, walker, racer or week-end jogger, you are welcome to join us.  Anyone can become a member.  Presently, we have over a hundred members, with about two dozen active members, originating from the Island of Montreal and surrounding areas.  Our walkers and runners come with various abilities.  Some win Marathons, others come-in dead last and others run for the joy of it.  So please join-us on our Saturday weekly walks or runs at 10 AM.

Les Galopins Front Runners is a member of International Front Runners which is an affiliation of GLBT running/walking clubs that have organized in many of larger cities around the world.  Inspired by Patricia Nell Warren's novel  The Front Runner, the first FrontRunner club began in San Francisco in 1974, and other FR clubs quickly began forming in the United States then in Canada and abroad.  Presently, there are Front Runners clubs in Ottawa, Peterborough, Toronto, Halifax and elsewhere. Our club was established in 1995.
